Amelia Tanttila - Lawyer Biography
Amelia Tanttila received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Washington in 1989, and her J.D. from Seattle University Law School in 1993 (which was, at the time, the Puget Sound School of Law). While in law school, Amelia interned with a criminal defense firm and served on the Moot Court Board, and was the head administrator for the Mock Trial competition. Upon graduation, Amelia first worked for a solo practitioner on business planning and estate planning and guardianship matters; she then prosecuted for the King County Prosecutor's Office.
After taking a hiatus from practicing law to write, Amelia re-entered the legal profession through the legal/contracts departments in two Boulder/Denver area hi-tech companies. Since then, Amelia has pursued her private practice for individuals on (mainly) estate planning matters and real estate, business formation and contracts for small businesses, and continues to provide consulting and legal services in the technology industry.
Amelia is licensed to practice law in Washington and Colorado, and is a member of the Boulder County and Colorado Bar Associations (the Trusts and Estates and Solo Practice divisions). She has served on the boards of the The Society for Creative Aging and the Belltown Theater Company.
Amelia grew up in Boulder and enjoys running and video-making in her free time.
